Shelby Blackstock and Ashley Freiburg, who became the first woman to score an overall win in Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge history, managed a 1-2 victory in Friday's BMW Performance 200 at the Daytona International Speedway. The win came following a post-race technical disqualification of the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M3.
Blackstock and Freiburg lead what turned out to be a first and second place sweep at Daytona, following the runner-up tandem of John Edwards and Trent Hindman in the No. 46 Fall-Line Motorsports M3.
While the second Turner Motorsport M3 took third place, Rum Bum Racing finished a solid fourth with Hugh Plumb and 15-year-old sensation Kaz Grala in the No. 3 BMW M3.
With Daytona now in the books, we look forward to the CTSCC debut at Sebring International Raceway on Friday, March 14.
HRE Wheels congratulates both Fall-Line Motorsports and Rum Bum Racing for an overall successful start to the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series.
