It's no secret that we at HRE Wheels are avid automotive enthusiasts. So much so that some of us actually bleed 10w30 motor oil. That said, we were excited to attend the second annual 86Fest car show at Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, Ca. where the stars were the venerable rear-wheel drive AE86 Toyota Corolla and its modern, well-balanced, affordable counterparts, the Scion FR-S and Subaru BR-Z. Having recently launched the new HRE FlowForm, our latest cast flow formed wheels, with specific fitments for the late model chassis, we went into the event excited to show this community what HRE Wheels could do for them.
Being welcomed with open arms, the 800 sq.ft. boutique style booth was a stand out in the vendor area and a HUGE success. Of course the latest in HRE Forged and FlowForm wheels were on display for all to see, including the all new incredibly lightweight Series P101 wheel finished in Gloss White.
Flanked by the stunning wheels were the equally impressive display vehicles. On one end we had Mickey Andrade's award winning 1987 AE86 Toyota Corolla that flaunts a Honda S2000 drivetrain conversion that doubles the horsepower of the original powerplant and an equally impressive custom 16" set of low offset HRE Forged Competition Series wheels.
At the other end of the booth was a gorgeous black metal flake Subaru BR-Z provided by Subaru of El Cajon and modified with a special dealer upgrade package by TAG Motorsports. The upgrade package includes H&R lowering springs, HRE FlowForm wheels and appropriate sized Yokohama ultra-high performance tires and is available on the showroom floor currently available for purchase. In addition to the impressive display HRE also raffled off a set of FlowForm wheels to one lucky entrant valued at three thousand dollars. Jorge O'Campo was the lucky winner and we look forward to delivering his special wheels to him!
