Last month, HRE Wheels attended TX2K, the high-horsepower event at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.
The heavy-hitters for the week included Underground Racing, OB Prestige Auto Racing Team, Straight Jacket Racing, AMS Performance and English Racing. Cars, ranging from powerful Toyota Supras to twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracans to rampant Nissan GT-Rs filled the pit garages and raced into the night, often times in excess of 200mph.
The dyno portion of the event featured Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, GT-Rs, trucks, and others that made the trek from around the country (some from as far as Canada).
Arguably, the highlight of the weekend was the first ever, 6-second pass by the 'Alpha G' AMS Performance Nissan GT-R, piloted by Gidi Chamdi. The 'Alpha G' had been suffering mechanical issues all week and actually ended up setting the record pass on a third motor.
