Fresh off their win at Road America, Rum Bum Racing sought to dominate the SFP Grand Prix at the Kansas Speedway while Fall-Line Motorsports looked to recover from their disappointing finish last weekend in Wisconsin.
Boasting a commanding lead in the Continental Tire GS team standings, Rum Bum Racing and their drivers, Matt Plumb and Nick Longhi, pushed their #13 Porsche 997 on HRE R43 forged racing wheels all the way to second place following some close-call moments and brief contact throughout the race. Fall-Line Motorsports entered the SFP Grand Prix weekend hopeful and optimistic for a top podium finish. Unfortunately, the BMW M3 trio, sporting HRE R43 motorsport wheels, finished just short, with the #46 car crossing the finish line fourth, the #48 car seventh, while the #45 car suffered engine failure and retired from the race.
Finally, Performance Autosport Inc. scored two wins this weekend at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia as their R40-equipped Ford Mustang RTR, piloted by Chris Cobetto, battled Ed Hunter in the rain, ultimately taking home first place.
Both Grand-AM teams will be in action on September 7-8 at the famed, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. HRE Wheels congratulates all HRE-equipped teams this past weekend.
